A 2-minute LiDAR scan, processed with a parametric foot model, delivers measurements accurate enough for bespoke lasts.
2-minute scan / ±1.5 mm accuracy / No equipment needed

Captured with iPhone LiDAR in 2 minutes. Processed with the FIND parametric foot model from University of Cambridge.
See the actual data at each stage of processing. Every viewer below is real output — not an illustration.
Each station is captured in ~10 seconds. Total scan time: under 2 minutes. Processing: ~5 minutes.
Manual verification ensures only foot-surface points are used for fitting. Every scan passes through this step before the parametric model runs.
Three steps from pocket to precision. Each one automated.
The app guides you through nine positions around the foot — top, heel, left, front, right, and the diagonals in between. Each station captures a burst of LiDAR depth frames. Total scan time: under two minutes.
A deformable foot template (FIND, University of Cambridge) is fitted to the LiDAR point cloud. The model adjusts to match the exact shape of the foot while maintaining anatomically correct topology.
All bespoke measurements are extracted directly from the fitted model — foot length, ball width, heel width, and EU sizing. No manual measurement needed.
A scan is only worth the confidence you can place in it. Our pilot measurement matches hand measurement to within the natural variability of a skilled measurer.
| Method | Foot length |
|---|---|
| Topology3D LiDAR scan | 255.4 mm |
| Manual measurement | 256.1 mm |
Within ±1.5 mm accuracy.
Surface fitting accuracy: 1.42 mm median (mesh-to-cloud distance, manually verified scan data).
Trunk shows reach a handful of cities per year. With Topology3D, your clients scan their feet from Tel Aviv, Dubai, São Paulo, or Riyadh — and send you measurements accurate enough to start a last.
No expensive equipment. No shipping foot casts. No scheduling conflicts. Just a smartphone with LiDAR.
Remote foot morphology capture for custom orthotics. Digital records that can be shared between practitioners, compared over time, and fed directly into CAD/CAM workflows.
No expensive scanning hardware — just an iPhone with LiDAR.
